OCEANMAN is an international open water swimming race, which is held in the most beautiful places on Earth: Putrajaya and Lake Orta, the Mediterranean Sea, the Caribbean Sea, the Pacific Ocean. This race may also be hosted by other countries, e.g. Malaysia, Spain, Italy, Greece, Mexico, Abkhazia, Russia, Ukraine.
This year, for the first time, Sporter organizes OCEANMAN race on the amazing Constanta seaside, Romania! If you have already registered for the race or you are thinking about it, it’s good to find out where are the most beautiful places you can visit on OCEANMAN weekend.
Constanta is one of the biggest cities in Romania. It is the capital of a like-named county and it represents a location for summer vacations, which welcomes thousands of tourists every year. Constanta is situated on the Black Sea coast, it has a lot of modern beaches and the most important Romanian maritime ports. In addition, the city has a lot to offer to its guests.
- The first visit to Constanta has to start with a stroll on the cliff, where you can admire the beauty of the Black Sea and the casino building, which is one of the symbols of the city.
- While walking, you can visit the Constanta Aquarium - the first of its kind in Romania, which was founded in 1958. Here you will find more than 100 species of fish.
- Also, you may visit the Genovese lighthouse, which was built by Genovese commerciants. The modern version of the lighthouse was built in stone in 1880.
- Gaze at the “Transfiguration” Greek Church - the most visited touristic building. It was built in 1868 and it is the first church of the city.
- A great place to visit, especially if you have children, is the “Complexul Muzeal de Stiinte ale Naturii” (Museum Complex of Natural Sciences), which consists of Dolphinarium, Planetarium and Astronomical Observatory.
- If you want to learn something about the Romanian tradition and folk, visit the Folk Art Museum. In addition to the astonishing architecture of the building, the folk art items will catch your eye and melt your heart.
As a sign of respect for muslims, who live in the city, Carol I initiated the building of a mosque. It was named The Great Carol Mosque. After you have admired the interior design, climb the 140 steps of the mosque, which will lead you to the balcony, where you can enjoy an amazing panorama of the city.
